Out for a bit... again

My grandfather died yesterday evening at approximately 7:30pm. He had blood poisoning caused by an infection in his hip (which was replaced several years ago).

I still don't really know what to think or feel, I've just been keeping myself occupied with anything to keep my mind active. It's just so unreal, after going through all this a few months ago with my grandmother.

I always used to enjoy the time I spent with nanna and poppa. She'd spoil all us kids with home-made cookies, and he'd make us all laugh with fantastic stories from the past. I remember when they moved into their new house about 12 years ago or so, me and poppa planted a mandarin tree in the garden. Every time we came back to New Zealand (we were living in singapore, and then australia) I'd ask about it, and it never seemed to bear any fruit. It always made us laugh, but it was our thing.

I miss them.

I'm flying across for the funeral tomorrow, and I won't be getting back for a little while, so I won't be commenting or submitting anything for a while.
